Derbyshire BSF, Springwell Community School

The Equitix team incorporating Frank Shaw Associates has been chosen as the preferred bidder to work in partnership with Derbyshire County Council on their £750 million Building Schools for the Future Programme. The first wave of new schools, including Frank Shaw Associates' designed Springwell Community School, has now started on site.

The School is in the first wave of a 10 year programme to rebuild Derbyshire’s schools – their longest ever school-building project.

It is a specialist Arts college for 900 pupils, designed on a campus model, which allows a range of educational models to suit current needs yet is flexible to serve a variety of extended future uses for the School and local community.

The design achieves a BREEAM rating of Excellent at design stage.
